I blew it already!

So much for the vow of writing something everyday!  Although I thought about it a bunch, I just didn't do it.  I confess, I am lazy about some things.

I did spend the day with my daughter.  We did go to Hancock's and out to lunch with my hub and to the grocery store.  Ashley is a chef and made us home made ravioli which was fabulous.  I made the marinara-also fabulous.  Aaron helped her which made my heart sing to hear the two of them cooking together.  He tends to hero worship her, and while she loves him dearly, he aggravates the tar out of her.

The quilt I worked on yesterday I am calling The Circle quilt.  I am using fabric that is called Peaceful Planet and boy do I love it!  Lots of greens, blues, and some magenta like purples.  At Hancock I found some fabric for the borders and the back.  Peace signs and recycle earth type stuff.  I love the message, especially since quilting is the original form of recycling!

Sophie and Cruise were also happy campers yesterday.  Ashley and I took them with us to pick up the boy from school.  Although Cruise thought he should sit in the front with me, he was just as happy to sit behind me, drooling with excitement.  Him-not me!

Today's plan is to work on The Circle quilt a bit.  I don't know why, but I feel extremely tired.  Guess it's just age, but I will force myself to sew.  I find it very relaxing.  Someday I hope to have a room dedicated to sewing/crafts.  Ahhh to dream is wonderful, isn't it?

First post!

Sophie is my Standard Poodle.  She is jet black and must wear a pink collar.  Not because she insists, but because I do.  She is completely spoiled and I love her.  As I write this she is on the couch next me.  She has a very distinct personality.  And she grumbles-a lot!  She lets you know just what she thinks about most things.

My name is Jodi.  I am a wife to Steve and a mother to two beautiful human children.  My daughter, Ashley,  is 28 and my son, Aaron, is 14. They are what keeps me alive.  I truly believe that they are the reason I was put here on this earth.  We also have a Golden Retriever named Cruise.  He is the sweetest dog around, even if he is afraid of just about everything.  He follows me around like, well, a lost puppy.  Even if I go into my closet-he is right on my heals.

Now that I have introduced you to my family I will tell you about my obsession:  Quilting.  I started quilting in November of 2010, and am working on my 9th.  Actually, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are all various works in progress-all at different stages of completion.  I will be posting pics as soon as I figure out how to do so.

I have many many hobbies, but have forgone them all for the love of quilting.  Some of them will resurface in pictures, others are best left exactly where they are now.  In a box somewhere, in the trash,  or at various people's houses.

My vow is to try to write a little something everyday.  We shall see how that goes....
